But the scene that did it for me was when they encounter the marine with the metal gear prototype after Templar dies, and he says shit about Templar, and Rico goes crazy, it just made me think, man I hope he dies, cuz he just goes crazy on the guy but i felt like saying, yes it sucks Templar is dead but no one gives a monkeys anus that you are offended, asshole.

Yeah, sort of weird how they give you a couple of reasons to hate him then don't follow through by having him die valiantly in battle or break down and turn on you or anything like that. Kind of hard to care about any of those characters considering nothing happens over most of the game. By the time those other three people got captured I had already sort of given up on the cast, so I didn't really feel any incentive to rescue them or anyhting, either.
